In this paper, we review the different, open and industrial frameworks that support IT organizations in the transition from IT infrastructure management into IT Service management and IT business value or IT Governance management. An introductions discussion explains the difference between distinguish stages of IT management. Also, it shows IT Service Management framework and IT Governance framework. We are comparing these two concepts and their models and concluding remarks. It will be word about one example from Croatian practice.
Information Technology (IT) has been serving as a technology provider helping businesses to perform more efficiently and to expend into new directions since its early stages. Over the years, IT has become the backbone of each business. Investments into IT have reached very high levels which are still continually on the rise. Many business functions would be impossible without IT. As a result of its increasing role in the organizations, IT function is also changing.
Over the past decade, many CIOs have realized that it is not sufficient to manage merely the IT end of the business. The integration of IT strategy to business strategy must be managed as well. The tool chosen for this task can be IT Balanced Scorecard.
